The Missing Link

plants are friends

Your Endocannabinoid System could be the key to unlocking your full potential

It may seem unbelievable to some that the cannabis can have such a profound effect on our health; that one plant can help so many different conditions; that it can provide both palliative and curative actions safely and powerfully.

The seemingly impossible abilities of medicinal cannabis left many questions to be answered, leading to a lot of studies and research, and to the ultimate discovery of a previously unknown physiologic system, a central component of the health and healing of every human (and most animals): the Endocannabinoid System.

Understanding the ECS

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a vast network of chemical compounds and receptors found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.

In each area, the ECS performs different tasks, but the objective is always the same: homeostasis (keeping a stable internal environment despite changes in the external environment)

“Endocannabinoids and cannabinoids are also found at the intersection of the body’s various systems, allowing communication and coordination between different cell types. For example, at the site of an injury cannabinoids decrease the release of activators and sensitizers from the injured tissue, stabilizing the nerve cell to prevent excessive firing, and calming nearby immune cells to prevent the release of pro-inflammatory substances. Three different mechanisms of action on three different cell types for a single purpose: minimize the pain and damage caused by the injury. The ECS, with its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and all of the body’s organs, is literally a bridge between body and mind. By understanding this system we begin to see a mechanism that explains how states of consciousness can promote health or disease.” Dr. Dustin Sulak

Endocannabinoids are produced by the body

Phytocannabinoids are found in the cannabis plant and stimulate cannabinoid receptors when ingested or applied topically.

A balanced, high-functioning ECS helps create a balanced, high functioning body, and that is why it is so important to supplement with phytocannabinoids.

  • Just like we take things like probiotics to increase digestive health or CoQ10 for cardiovascular health, we should be supplementing cannabinoids for optimal ECS function.

  • Taking a cannabinoid supplement like TONIC can signal the body to make more endocannabinoids and build more cannabinoid receptors

  • More receptors lead to an increased cannabinoid sensitivity to cannabinoids; you start to require smaller doses to produce big effects and your baseline endocannabinoid activity increases.

    • “I believe that small, regular doses of cannabis might act as a tonic to our most central physiologic healing system.” Dr. Dustin Sulak  (he even called it a “TONIC”… cool!!!!)
